Cookie's With Grandpa John

Since my parents were in town today we went out for lunch and Isaac was treated to a special halloween cookie.  It looked super yummy and not one crumb went to waste.

Busy Birthday Party Day

Frazer had to go out of town but that didn't stop us from staying busy.  Isaac had two birthday parties to attend today.

First up, the twins (Ansley & Chloe) turn 3.  Isaac had a great time and was wiped out, sound asleep minutes after making our way to the main road home.

He had just enough time for a nice nap to recharge his batteries then it was back to the same park for Kaylie's 3rd birthday party.  Since all the other kiddos were getting their face painted Isaac figured he would give it a try too.

He's a lovely little butterfly.  I really think he was more interested in the crayons that could be used to mark on his face. ;)

I'm not sure how well rested he was but it didn't stop him from playing.

It certainly didn't stop him from a second round of birthday cake.

When we got home he got a pack of Play-doh which he's never used before.  His first reaction was to bite it.  We've never played with Play-doh before so I figured this was a great time to show him what to do with it.  We had some fun before bedtime and it wasn't too messy either.

It was a full, fun-filled, day and bedtime couldn't come early enough for all of us!

Toddler Bed Time

During our beach trip Isaac perfected his climbing skills a little too well climbing in and out of the pack-n-play.  This morning I needed to give Julian a bath and Isaac was getting into so much mischief while I was setting up that I thought it might be best to put Isaac in his crib to keep him contained.

I was in the middle of bathing Julian and when I turned around Isaac was standing in the middle of Julian's room.  Isaac had climbed out of his crib.  After Julian was all cleaned up I asked Isaac to show me how he did it.  So I put Isaac back in his crib for a demonstration.

He was very careful and methodical about each move.

I'm not sure I'm ready for him to make the move to a toddler bed.  But….Isaac climbed out of his crib again after nap time.  Regardless of my readiness, Isaac has made his point.  Time to take the crib rail down.

When the toddler rail when up he was so happy and kept climbing in and out of his bed on his own and of course giving the mattress a good test by jumping on it too.  My little guy is certainly growing up way too fast.

Grandparents & Grandbabies

This is such a great picture of the boys with their Grandma and Grandpa Middleton.  :)

Say "Cheese" with Grandma and Grandpa

We've really enjoyed having Grandma and Grandpa Middleton visiting with us.  And we couldn't let them leave on the next leg of their trip without some pics.

Isaac loved spending time with Grandma and Grandpa and Julian got lots of special cuddles too.

A Proper Crew Cut

Isaac's buzz cut has been growing and even though I've done my best to keep his bangs trimmed it was time for a proper cut.  Of course before we could get there I had to chase my little monkey man out of the drivers seat. ;)

When we got there it took him a few minutes to warm up and he couldn't decide which of the fancy seats to choose.  He sat in the train car for a while but apparently that didn't have the right feel for him.

He eventually settled on the police car but it took some coaxing for the actual hair cut.

The lollipop bribe did the trick.

And of course helping papa pull his car into the garage was the cherry on top of Isaac's day.

Grandma's Love

One thing is for sure, Julian will never go without cuddles while Grandma is around.  She loves to cuddle him and he loves to be cuddled.  It's a perfect match.

It doesn't look like he minds the extra love and attention.

Julian is so alert and taking everything in.

Isaac wasn't lacking attention either.  Grandma and Grandpa bought him his very own Spider Man chair.  It was just his size and he loves it!

Last Beach Day

Isaac was up with the sun again and eager to start his day.  Isaac became fond of the Raisin Toast for breakfast from Panera bread.

Once he was dressed he went with Grandma and Grandpa on a coffee run this morning allowing Julian and I to take a wonderful nap.   Even though he may be a bit young for coffee he loves coffee cups and of course Nana got him his own cup with water so he didn't feel left out of the experience.  :)

It's always a little sad when beach trips come to an end and since it was raining it was perfect for getting a jump start on getting everything washed up and packed up to head home.

This evening Isaac and I took a final walk on the beach and of course Isaac couldn't resist the temptation to stay out of the water.  Once we were all cleaned up we ventured out for a bit to Destin Commons.  Isaac got to burn some steam off in the play area and he loved the coin rides.  He didn't actually like to sit in them if they were moving but climbing in and out was very entertaining.

It was really nice to spend time at the beach but very exhausting as well.  The drive down was a killer and even though the sleeping arrangements resulted in very little restful sleep Isaac has had an awesome time!  Having help with boy boys has been wonderful and being able to sit and listen to the repetitious sounds of ocean waves crashing is therapy for the soul and oh so priceless.

I think Julian enjoyed all the extra attention too.  :)

Frazer's Workbench

While the boys and I were driving home from the beach Frazer and his dad were busy in the garage.  Frazer has been planing a workbench for some time now and it was wonderful for him to spend time with his dad cutting down the lumber to the sizes he needed to get started.

It's so great for Frazer to have the chance to spend time with his dad.  Since Frazer's dad was a shop fitter it was fantastic for Frazer to be able to learn tips to help him along as he develops his own wood working skills.

Isaac Tickles the Ocean

Isaac started his morning out with a trip to the park with Nana and Grandpa.

While they were out I was able to have some snuggle time with Julian.

When it came time for dinner Isaac was a great helper while Grandpa grilled some yummy steaks.

I love this picture of Isaac sitting on the big chair with Grandpa.

After dinner Isaac and I spent some time together, just the two of us, with a trip out to the beach for an evening walk.

He's a boy after my own heart.  I can't express how much joy it brings to see him enjoying the sand and water.  It was very hard not to get in the water with him but I had to follow doctors orders until I'm cleared at my next postpartum check up.

The air was filled with the rush of the ocean and Isaac's giggles.  He loved running towards the water and the tide receded and then raced back to dry sand as the water chased him back to shore.

Isaac's little foot prints….

Mama and son foot prints….

As I played "chase" and "tickle" with Isaac he took off running and wanted to tickle the ocean too.

It was a beautiful evening.

He sat down for a bit to catch his breath and watched the ocean and the waves.

This is an evening I'll never forget.  We jumped the waves and ran back and forth for a long time.  I think he would have stayed out there all night.

I would say this picture sums up the amount of fun for the day!
