Easter Fun

Isaac woke up and found the Easter Bunny had left a basket full of goodies just for him!  As soon as he spotted the basket on the counter he ran straight over and climbed in his tower to check out the goods.

The Easter Bunny left Isaac a bunny coloring page, egg shaped side walk chalk, a slinky, bubbles, more stickers and a couple of kites!

He couldn't wait to open the bubbles!

The Easter Bunny even lingered behind this morning to make sure Isaac received his basket.  He hung around for a good bit in the backyard despite the morning rain.  Now thats a very nice Easter Bunny in my opinion!

We went out for brunch this morning at Cracker Barrel.  I had a huge craving for old fashioned sugar cured ham just like my grandma used to make and Cracker Barrel is the closest thing to grandma's food as I can get without making it myself.  I just didn't want to be eating ham for the next couple of weeks. After nap time we had some fun on the porch.

Isaac loved his new bubble gun!

Lots of messy bubble fun provided an afternoon of smiles and giggles.  So much fun!

More Egg Hunt Fun

Isaac had so much fun at the egg hunt this morning I decided to set up one for him at home.  I had some extra eggs that didn't get used since our neighborhood egg hunt got rained out so I put them out in the yard during nap time for a little afternoon fun when he woke up.

He loved carrying his basket around and went straight for all the eggs pointing at them as he saw them.

He was quick to pick up the egg and move to the next one too.

A basket full of eggs and a determined little guy.

Once he had a few collected he thought it would be more fun to dump them all out and then pick them up again.

We had a fantastic afternoon and I loved showing Isaac how to open the eggs and find the Sesame Street stickers inside.  Of course his favorites were all the Elmo stickers!

Mama and Poppet: 20 Weeks

It's almost hard to believe that this week is the 20 week mark!  That means we've reached the half way point and only 20 more weeks to go until we get to meet our little bundle of love.

From the moment I found out we were expecting I've referred to the baby as Poppet.  Just as I automatically referred to Isaac as Peanut.  Does that mean something?  I don't know.  I guess we'll have to wait and find out.  I will admit that we've tried twice now to find out.  I guess curiosity was getting the best of us but on both occasions, no luck.  This one isn't interested in revealing their gender anytime soon.  To me it's a sign we don't need to know and we'll be surprised.

Especially now that I'm feeling more and more movement I find myself having little conversations with Poppet and wondering if our little bundle is a boy or a girl.  The one thing I can say for sure it we'll be tickled to the moon either way.  Our only wish is for a healthy and happy baby.  At the end of the day that's all the matters.  :)

Isaac's First Egg Hunt

Today we went to the Taste of Forsyth event that also held an Easter Egg hunt for the kiddos.  Before the egg event we walked over to the fire truck and they had a mini truck with a talking puppet that instantly caught Isaac's attention.

There was a sea of eggs waiting to picked up by a bunch of tiny hands.

As soon as Isaac saw the eggs he wanted to take off.  He struggled to stay behind the line since he doesn't understand the concept of waiting yet.  A purse full of snacks and an iPhone were useful to keep his attention.

When it was time to start the fire engine sirens went off which started Isaac and then he wanted to be picked up.  He did manage to pick up 7 or 8 eggs which was plenty.  I think the mass chaos of kids running everywhere spooked him too.

I can't say that I blame him.  It was a crazy place.  It didn't help that we missed the egg hunt for his age group so we crashed the 4-6 year old group.  I just wanted him to have the experience of picking up a few eggs.  Mission accomplished.

Toddler Destruction

What happens when two toddlers get together for 1 1/2 hours of afternoon play?

Destruction!  But it's the best type of destruction there is and I absolutely love it.  It's so incredible to watch two little beings play.  I'm working with Isaac on not throwing toys, especially at other people.  Every toddler is working on their own milestones but it's so awesome when they're together playing, mimicking, and then moving from one toy to the next working through the entire available selection of toys from minute to minute.  Before you know it everything is out and they can't decide where to go next.  Isaac and Lennon had a great time!

Appliance Bliss

Over the past several weeks our dishwasher started showing signs that it was on the fritz and potentially dying a slow death.  With each cycle it was getting louder and louder.  Last week it was so bad when the wash cycle started it made the loudest noise ever followed by a horrendous vibration that could be felt throughout the house.  On top of that, it scared Isaac out of his skin!  The poor thing was in the kitchen when it started and he screamed, took off running to me with tears streaming.  At that point I started sending text message to Frazer that I think it might be time to start shopping for a new one.  One evening Frazer heard the noise himself, indicated it was the pump going out and agreed it was time for a new one!

Today was the day and the new dishwasher had arrived! A shiny new dishwasher that's super quiet and NO buttons on the front for little hands to push.  :)

Isaac was glued to me while it was being installed but he wanted to be close to the action too.  He insisted on getting his own tools out of the drawer.  His favorite toy is a real screw driver and measuring tape.  Since the installation guy had tools Isaac had to have some of his own too.

It's so sleek and shiny.  The perfect clean surface for little hands to leave prints behind.  The absolute best part of the installation was Frazer coming home, running the dishwasher for the first time and our entertainment was standing in front of it, listening.  We could barely tell it was running.  It was fantastic.  No more turning the volume up on the television when the dishwasher is running and rushing to turn the volume down when it stops.  Complete silence and button free!

Energy Burst

Since the attempt to join a gym didn't work out so well Frazer was able to get the new Elliptical put together and after 6 minutes I was struggling.  Guess that means I have a long way to go to get back in shape with this baby on board.  But, I was up at 6:30 am and on the Eliptical by 7:00 am!  That's huge for me considering I'm the furthest thing from a morning person.

Isaac woke up early and full of energy too! From the time he came downstairs he started running around the kitchen island pushing his grocery cart.  He was a wound up little boy!

Low Key Day

Isaac decided it would be fun to rummage through the recycling bin this morning.  He started with the empty milk containers and it looked like he was going to set up for a game of bowling but he just continued to pull everything out he could get his hands on.  He's a busy little guy for sure!

While out for dinner this evening Isaac and papa shared several cuddles :)

Dunking Oreo Lessons

Isaac needed more practice eating Oreo's so what kind of mama would I be to not train him properly? :)

He's such a good student and it only took him watching me dunk my Oreo in milk one time before he was ready to give it a try himself.

Then on his own accord he pulled the cookie apart and went straight for the cream center.

Gotta love that cookie mustache! Pure joy and goodness.  That was an awesome moment to share with my little guy.  :)

"O" Sounds

Our mischievous monkey is at it again.  Today he was determined to pull everything out! And I mean everything.  He's climbing on chairs, getting on the table and climbed on the back of the sofa all the way so he could reach the thermostat and dropped the temperature to 59!

Isaac has also been very busy with "o" sounds.  He loves to say "remote" which sounds more like "mooooote" and "Elmo" is more like "Eh-mooooooo".  He drags out the O and has the cutest facial expression which I haven't been able to capture, yet.

He's a happy boy which warms my heart.

Swings, Oreos and Little Boys

Isaac and I were both up early this morning and even before breakfast Isaac wanted to put his shoes on and go somewhere.  So after breakfast we loaded up and went to the park.  It was a bit brisk but still nice to get out in the fresh air.

He usually goes straight for the slides but today he was all about the swings!

After nap time Isaac was able to take advantage of mama's chocolate cravings and experienced his first Oreo cookie.

I sent a the picture of Isaac's chocolate face to Frazer and he sent me the sweetest image with a poem regarding little boys.

I'll never get tired of having a chocolate face to wipe, that's for sure.  I didn't even mind the crunched up chocolate cookies in the carpet.  It's just so much fun to watch him experience every little thing.  Isaac is already growing so fast and I know as time goes on it will go by faster.  He'll always be my little boy though.  :)

Tiny Kicks

This evening while sitting on the sofa watching television I felt Poppet kick for the first time! My favorite part of pregnancy....the best part of pregnancy is feeling tiny kicks.

The first trimester I felt absolutely awful.  And while the second trimester has been much better with the return of energy and a growing belly it's still an abstract experience.  I've looked at my belly on a weekly basis and even say out loud, "there's a baby in there".  The second time around has been a bit surreal since I know what to expect this time but also with a sense of wonder that we've created another life.  Everything comes together and all the discomforts are worth while when Poppet kicks and tumbles around in there.

"Painting"

Just like any other curious toddler, Isaac always wants to get his hands on my makeup brushes when ever he's with me when I'm getting ready.  I usually give him one to play with but today I brought them all downstairs to clean.  I was in the process of mixing up a solution of vinegar and dish soap and when I turned around.....

Isaac had helped himself to the brushes and started dipping them in my water, my drinking water none the less.

He's been to a couple of painting crafts and of course he's watched me use the brushes so he went to town dipping the brushes in water and "painting" his face.

Full of smiles and giggles as usual and having so much fun.

His fun ended when he knocked the cup of water over and soaked himself along with the floor.  :)

Isaac's New Beach Ball

It was an awesome day out and I decided to put Isaac in a summer jumper.  When I put it on him he wasn't sure what to do since he's been used to wearing pants.  He stood up and then knelt down as he tried to stretch the shorts to cover his legs.  He was too cute!

We spent some time outside and also took advantage to enjoy the screened porch.  The spring breeze and birds chirping was so refreshing!  Isaac however enjoyed the space to play with his new ball.

He bounced the ball all over the porch and giggled the entire time.

Couples Beer Tasting

Frazer and I had a great night hosting our first couples event for the mom's group and what better event to host than Beer Tasting!  Not that I could partake in the consumption of copious amounts of beer.  But, in honor of St. Patrick's Day I thought it was a fitting theme.  I love St. Patty's day, wearing something green and celebrating Irish heritage.  Although Frazer likes to tell me that I'm not Irish, I strongly disagree.  :)

A few decorations to get into the spirit....

And of course lots of yummy snacks to enjoy....

Frazer was in charge of the beer selection and he mixed it up a bit with Irish and Scottish beers.

It was a great night with a great group.

Spring Day - Outside Play

It turned out to be a beautiful day and after Isaac's nap we ventured outside for a bit.  While Isaac was playing in his little tikes car I was talking to the neighbor and we were both standing right next to Isaac.  I have no idea what Isaac did sitting inside his little car but the next thing I knew he was crying and his lip was bleeding and his chin was bruised!  The bummer was this was the second time in one day to hit his lip.  I ran inside to get a wet towel to clean his lip off and then Ms. Christine went to get Isaac the perfect sized popsicle for him to hold and soothe his boo-boo.  Poor thing!

Once he had a popsicle I think he forgot all about his boo-boo.

He enjoyed the tasty treat but as it started to melt he kept dripping it everywhere and I kept warning him to be careful how he was handling it.  I could see it happening... I knew it was a matter of time before he dumped it out.   And then....it happened.  Plop!  He tried to pick it up and put it back in the container.  He was too cute!

Once his treat was all gone he played with the big boys. Alex, next door is 7, and he pulled out a toy just for Isaac.

He really enjoyed playing basketball with the big boys too!
