Isaac's Last Day at AFUMC

It's hat day at school and Isaac picked out his favorite hat to wear.

It's also Isaac's last day of preschool at Alpharetta First United Methodist church.  It's a bitter sweet ending before all the moving activities begin. He's really had a great time at school and has enjoyed being in class with his buddy Lennon.

Ms. Becky and Ms. Lynn were Isaac's very first teachers.  It was a wonderful program and were sad to be leaving but looking forward to the adventures ahead.

Isaac's First Trip To the Dentist

Isaac had his first trip to the pediatric dentist this morning.  I've never been to a pediatric dentist's office and this place was impressive.  It was by far the coolest dentist office I've ever seen with video games in the lobby and a separate movie area.

When it was time to see the dentist Isaac did an amazing job!  He was so laid back and he laid in my lap while the dentist checked his teeth and his frenulum.  The dentist said his frenulum is more pronounced than most but it should diminish as he grows.  However if it becomes a problem it can be cut but we should wait until he's much older to have it done, age 8 ish.

Birthday Party Fun at Catch Air

Today Isaac had a fun morning at Catch Air with his friends to celebrate Lauren Bookston's birthday.

Isaac wasn't sure what to do during the dance party when the minion came to dance with everyone.  He sat on the little bench just mesmerized and taking everything in for the longest time before he got up to join in on the fun.

Isaac's favorite part of all birthday parties is cake time!  He certainly has the flow of birthday parties down.

Relief for Julian

After only one day of administering Julian's reflux medication he's had a full 24 hours of relief!  He had a great day and enjoyed a peaceful afternoon nap too.

Baby napping....No pics please :)

Busy School Morning & Julian's Check Up

Some mornings seem to flow smoothly with everything falling into place.  This morning was not one of those mornings.  From the moment Isaac woke up he was not interested in going to school.  We were all disjointed and of course running behind.  All Isaac could say this morning was "no school".  It didn't help that he made a total mess at breakfast and from the time he got dressed to the time we walked out of the door he went through three shirts.  Yes, it was going to be one of those mornings.....

After a great deal of convincing, Isaac was on board for school and we had fun spotting all of the school buses on our way.  All that changed when we actually arrived at school resulting in a rough drop off.  Isaac did not want to let go of me which always tugs at my heart strings.  It's always so hard when he doesn't want me to leave but I had to get Julian to the doctor so the teacher had to take him.  It breaks my heart but I also know he's completely adjusted as soon as I'm in the parking lot.

The rush and chaos of this morning kinda of made me laugh.  I had quick visions of my future flashing before me of school mornings and motivating kids to get ready and out the door in the morning.  :-)

Julian had a great check up this morning.  He weighed in at 17 lbs and 10 oz and he's 27 1/2' long.  He's still in the 90th percentile for height and head circumference and in the 50th for weight.

We had a bit of a wait today which is unusual but this place was busy since it was closed all last week from the crazy weather.  Julian kept himself entertained playing with the paper on the table while we waited.  He enjoyed all the crinkly noises and of course he had to taste it just in case he was missing out on something yummy.

Today Julian saw Dr. Riseman instead of his regular physician.  After reviewing Julian's on-going history with his reflux Dr. Riseman agreed it was time to try some reflux medications!!  I was super excited and so hopeful the medication would provide little man with some much needed relief.

Our Unexpected Valentines Gift

Last night we had a wonderful Valentine's date night.  Frazer made reservations at Prime at Lenox and it was just perfect.  We've got to do a better job of taking pictures of our date nights though.

We spent the evening catching up with each other since Frazer is still traveling each week.  I got to hear all about how his new job is going and I caught him up on all the adventures of my week with the boys.

I had a couple of doctors appointments this past week and I was filling Frazer in on the highlights.  Most of the conversation related to the increased number of migraines.  Four migraines were awful with spotty vision, loss of peripheral vision followed by massive one sided pain.  I hadn't had a single migraine while pregnant with Julian so I wasn't happy they had started back up.  I had started a new type of birth control after Julian was born and I figured this version was probably causing the migraines.  It also messed up my cycle so with the two combined issues I stopped taking it in December and was waiting for things to return to normal before starting a different brand.

As I was walking through all of this with Frazer he looked at me cautiously and then carefully asked if I thought there was any chance I might be pregnant.  I laughed!  The thought hadn't even crossed my mind and I asked him if he knew something I didn't know.

Well, this morning I got up early and our conversation was lingering in the back of my mind so more for sake of curiosity I decided to take a pregnancy test.  I had one on hand from the two pack I bought when we found out we were expecting Julian so why not use it, right?

I was still groggy and not fully awake and I didn't have my glasses on either but after the allotted time had passed I check on the test.  Oh-My-Goodness!  I about fell over!

It was positive! I said to myself "No, that can't be".  I rubbed my eyes to make sure they were really focusing and not misreading.  I checked again, smiled, and again said, "no" shaking my head.  I absolutely couldn't wrap my head around the fact I was pregnant.  With my crazy cycle and all the migraines it simply didn't seem logical.  Yes, I know how babies are made.  But when you know the details of the situation and do the math there is no way this should have happened.  All I knew at that moment is we were having another baby and this little peanut was meant to be.  For all the people that struggle to conceive, Frazer and I are a definite match!

I waited to tell Frazer when he woke up.  This was the first time he's been home so I could tell him.  The past two pregnancies he was in Brazil when I found out.  Now, in hindsight, I should have waited until he was awake, took the test and both of us found out at the same time.  Oh well.  Once he was awake, I walked over to him and showed him the test.  He laughed!  At this point it was funny!

Before Julian was born we knew we wanted two children.  And I've always said if there was ever a 3rd there would have to be a 4th to keep the family even.  I think we both really felt we were good with two children.  Then Julian was born and from the time I brought him home the emotions washed over me and I was overwhelmed with the notion that we weren't finished.  I had even given away some of my maternity clothes at that point.  Frazer and I talked about it and we both said let's just wait a few months and see how we feel.  Postpartum hormones can be crazy so I wanted to make sure the emotions and what I was feeling was true instinctive guidance.  After each passing month my feelings didn't change.  We went back and forth of having having three vs four.  The thought of four was really overwhelming but the notion of having a third never changed.

This little baby is certainly a gift and was destined to be ours.  The stars must have been aligned at just the right moment.  I just never imagined having a third baby so quickly!  When I did the math it meant I was already 6-8 weeks along.  It would take a visit to the doctor to determine for sure.

Regardless, we are so happy but I have to say I spent the rest of the day processing the information.  Three babies age three and under.   Wow!  Julian and little peanut will only be 13 months apart.  Wow! Oh-My-Goodness is all I can say.  Life is certainly going to be busy.  The bonus side is I'm probably half way through my first trimester already and haven't really had any problems.

So, we're having another baby!  We'll soon be a family of five and couldn't be happier!

Valentine's Day & Snow Painting

It's Valentine's day!  My little heart breaker woke up to some morning fun with a trail of hearts to follow downstairs.

He ran to each little heart picking it up to look at the message on the other side.

Hid did a great job picking them all up and following the trail.

When he made his way downstairs and turned the corner to see the table he was full of excitement!

He opened his card first then checked out his new puppy.

We saved the best treat for last!  Mini cupcakes!!

After Isaac had his treats it was time for some outdoor fun!  It was warm enough to play outside today in the snow without having to be bundled for the arctic tundra.  Isaac enjoyed working his muscles with the shovel and playing in the slush.

Then we switched to some artistic fun!  Snow painting!  I had some squeeze bottles in the pantry and found a neat idea on Pinterest.  I mixed up some water and food coloring for Isaac to squeeze on the snow to create some art work.  He had a blast!  Julian and I hung out right inside the door watching big brother have fun.

More Snow!!

It's been a long time since I've been able to sit and watch the snow come down.  It was so pretty and tranquil to watch the snow flakes fall.  I couldn't believe how much accumulation we received.  It's not much compared to other parts of the country but by Georgia standards its significant.

Since there was no school again today we continued our entertainment indoors.

Isaac loved having the blanket fort to continue playing in.  I was lucky he let me poke my head in to take his picture.  At first he liked the idea of mama playing and checking out his fort then he kicked me out!

Isaac also surprised me at snack time today.  He's officially reached a new milestone.  He didn't want a plastic spoon for his yogurt he wanted a big spoon.

I can't forget about Julian either.  He also enjoyed the snow day with lots of extra cuddles and snuggles.

Julian 6 Months Old!

As much as I wish time would slow down it seems to be zooming by.  Julian has been working hard to build his muscles as he learns to sit up.  He really enjoys sitting upright and playing with toys.  This month Julian also started his first experience with solid foods!  It was messy and yummy all at the same time.  However he didn't care for the introduction of vegetables for breakfast one morning.  Oh, well, gotta start him off right with the healthy foods.  :)

The boys have been more interactive with each other and I absolutely love watching the two of them interact together.  Julian certainly loves watching his big brother and I'm sure he's taking notes too!

Happy 6 months Julian!

Blanket Fort Time

A couple of days ago the forecast was calling for more snow and the predictions for this storm were similar to the last one so I stocked up early.  Everyone else was doing the same thing and it was a zoo.  Well, the weather finally hit, school is closed and we're staying inside.

Both boys are a little congested but that didn't stop us from finding some entertainment. Blanket forts were the perfect solution!!

This was our first blanket fort together and it took some creativity and a lot of blankets but Isaac thought it was fantastic!

Conversations of Motherhood

While I'm still learning the ropes of motherhood there are some things that continue to amaze me.  The conversations I find myself having are somewhat amusing.  Today's conversation with Isaac:

No, you don't need to put toys down your pants.  No you don't need a tissue and you don't put tissues down your pants.

It seems we have a new fascination of what can be stuffed inside pants.

Isaac & Lennon

The night shift last night was a bit rough. These boys know how to keep a mama on her toes.  Even though I was in bed by 11 I was up three times with Julian.  Isaac came in my room too.  I love the snuggles but he kept waking me up to help him find his puppy and binky.  Needless to say it was a restless night for mama.  However, the boys were up early and full of energy!

Before our afternoon play day Isaac's morning shenanigans involved raisins and toys.  He discovered raisins were not the best option for cleaning the air filter and flushing the radiator on his Handy Manny truck.  Luckily mechanic mama was able to come to the rescue after using some tweezers and q-tips to carefully extract the smashed raisins.  :-0

After naps it was time for some afternoon play with Isaac's buddy Lennon.

These two are just precious together.

Staying Busy

After all this crazy weather and Frazer traveling every week now, I was able to break away on the 1st for some TLC and put my Christmas gift card to good use for a lovely massage and pedicure.  I had a full day to relax and even enjoyed a hair cut as well as some coffee and girl time with Jennifer.

Things have been busy with getting moving quotes and trying to prep for the upcoming move.  Somedays I'm not sure reality has set in that we're really moving.

Isaac loved his new jacket from Auntie Jennifer and wanted to model it.  It's the perfect jacket to go feed the cows in!

Nana and grandpa came over for a visit and Julian got some special cuddle time with grandpa.

When I picked Isaac up from school this afternoon he had some lovely art work.  I absolutely love all the creative things he gets to work on at school.  I've got to figure out how to preserve all these little treasures.  They're just too precious!
