A few days ago I attended the SHRM Atlanta conference. There is always an exhibit hall full of vendors showcasing the latest and greatest programs, materials, services and trends within human resources. All of the vendors were armed with marketing collateral and a plethora of swag. The funny thing about this experience as I meandered from booth to booth was the difference in my perspective. Usually I'm not interesting in picking up items unless they're relevant. I'm not a fan of clutter and why pick something up if its not going to be used. But...this year was different.... This year I found myself looking at items with a different eye....the eye of bringing home a little trinket that would be of interest to Isaac.
A dental provider had the children's book
The Berenstain Bears Visit The Dentist so of course I picked this up. At another booth I picked up a green and white yo-yo that lights up. I thought to myself, okay....flashing red lights should be interesting. Isaac loves his rubber ducky that lights up. So, I tossed it into my bag of goodies and forgot about it until I got home.
When Papa got home he was holding Isaac and picked up the yo-yo. And since you can't pick up a yo-yo and not play with it....that's exactly what he did. OH-MY-GOODNESS! Isaac's reaction caught us both off guard and I had to capture this on video. This kid cracks me up and there is no way to watch this and not laugh!
Who knew conference swag could be so fun!
