Moving Day

It's moving day and the trucks have arrived!  The is a bittersweet day for sure.  We're very excited to be moving and look forward to the adventure ahead of us.  However, I'm certainly going to miss all of our friends here.

From the time the movers arrived they didn't stop.  Boxes were everywhere but before long things were being loaded up and out.

It was a day of divide and conquer.  However, the lead crewman agreed the packers from the previous day didn't do their best job and left a great deal of work for today's crew to finish.  As long as they get things moved safely it will all work out in the end......I hope.

Seeing Isaac's room empty certainly made me teary.  I look at the stains on the carpet and know the story behind them. From his first experiment with using Desitin diaper cream to paint on the carpet and walls, to using a toilet cleaner on the carpet and turning it blue, soap on the walls and I could keep going.  This is the room Isaac learned to climb out of his crib and where he transitioned to a toddler bed.  So many happy memories in the short time we were here.

And for Julian , this was his very first room.  The place he was brought home from the hospital.  All the sleepless nights rocking him in his room and Isaac running circles between the two rooms since they connected via the bathroom.  So many memories from Julian's first bath, to walking in to get him from naps and he'd be full of smiles.

Before long the day had passed, the upstairs was empty and I sat on the steps watching items walk out the front door.  This was our first house as a family.  I never imagined with all the updates to make this our home and make it our own that we'd be moving and so soon.  However, I couldn't be happier for Frazer.  He's so deserving of this promotion and it's the right thing to do for our family it's just a little sad as this chapter closes.

Isaac took his first steps in this living room.  This is where we hosted his first birthday party and had our first Christmas as a family of four.

We certainly had so many wonderful memories in this home.  We couldn't have asked for better neighbors and Alpharetta is such a great place that I know we'll miss.  I know this may seem a bit sappy but I can assure you as soon as everything was out and we walked out the door for the last time it was truly the end of a chapter.  Tomorrow is a new day with a blank slate and the adventure officially begins.  :)
