We're Moving...

One would think the process of moving would be simple and straight forward. Especially given the current state of the economy along with the abundant supply of homes for sale on the market, selecting a home, buying a house and closing should be relatively easy.  Well.....in our case....not so much.  We started looking at homes last fall.  We went so far as having a contract to build a new house only to walk the lot once the foundation was poured to be informed of a 50 foot power line easement which altered the design and limited the use of the backyard.  Seriously...it limited the height and types of plants that could be planted.  So, that was a no go and we backed out of that one.  So, it was back to the starting line again.

Then, we started a new search and found a great property in Alpharetta and made an offer in January with a closing date set for March.  This particular property is a short sale and lets just say the process is anything but short.  Well, March has obviously passed and a new closing date was set for April 30th!  Things we're finally rolling and I was ready to start packing.

It didn't take long for the boxes to start adding up.  Isaac was a great little helper.  He loved investigating the new boxes and the packing material.  A box of paper just for him to explore and make noises with.....at least that's what he thought it was for.  Each time I taped a new box together he immediately came over to explore.  Isaac followed me from room to room as I gathered items to be packed.  As each item was gathered and wrapped I would carefully place the item in the box and then move to the next item and sure enough as soon as I turned around he was rolling up his sleeves to help by taking the items out the box.

In just a short week a lot of progress was made.  I ran out of boxes and wanted to hold off on moving forward with the packing festivities until the inspection was completed on the new house.  In the process or working with out agent to schedule the inspection we were informed of potential delays and difficulties with the sellers bank.  And then, everything started slowing down and things came to a halt.  We're ready to go on our end, the sellers are ready to go on their end, but the sellers bank is apparently in a different paradigm.  So......we wait...again....while half way packed.....

Everything happens for a reason and I know the wait will be worth it in the end..... I will attempt to patiently wait for the green light to get this show moving.....
