Taking a Stand

It's amazing how much gear a baby can accumulate in such a short amount of time.  The number of items marketed for babies is overwhelming at times especially when so many items only last a short period of time. Pacifiers have a limited life according to the packaging from 0-3 months, 3-6 months and 6 months +.  The same applied for the nipples on his bottles.  Isaac has already outgrown the infant car carrier and he's yet to wear out any of his clothes.  There are just some items that are outgrown so quickly with no way to be re-purposed.  The mamaRoo however, is a different story.

Isaac hasn't meet the weight limit, yet when lounging in this motorized rocker he started sitting up and leaning to the sides which caused the mamaRoo to shudder in anguish.  Therefore it's essentially been decommissioned for a short period of time.  However, with Isaac's ingenuity, he discovered a second purpose for the mamaRoo.  Isaac crawled over to the mamaRoom and sat up for a moment and his expression was so deep and serious for a few moments as if his eyes were scanning the object before him from top to bottom and his little gears performed all of the tedious calculations.  ---This look of contemplation is a dead give away.  He sits very still, his eyes zero in, he bites his bottom lip and then he starts wringing his hands.---  He pounded the base with his hands as if assessing the level of stability and this checked out since there was no power and the buttons provided zero feedback.  Next, he positioned himself on his knees and reached for the object before him.  As he steadied himself he apparently decided he was ready to take this adventure to the next level and before I knew it he had pulled himself up.  Isaac was a bit unsteady on his feet but this didn't deter him from continuing.  Instead, he quickly spotted and grabbed hold of the seat straps and decided they were an excellent source of stability.  They fit his little hands perfectly and were flexible allowing him to slowly wiggle his little feet from side to side so he could conduct further investigations of this object.

Isaac has been showing an interest in pulling himself up but this was the first time, unprompted, and with zero assistance he took a stand, all on his own.  He was so proud of himself as he should be.  He had found a second purpose for the mamaRoo.  I'm sure this was not the intended second use of this product and considering Isaac continued to make a bee line to this object anytime he was hit with the urge to pull himself up I knew the following day I would have to take it down and pack it up.  Safety first.  It just means there is shopping in my near future for a new toy!
